Postcrossing stamps. Russia, 2015

Postcrossing is a project that allows its members to send and receive postcards from all over the world. The project has originated under the influence of bookcrossing – the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise.

The aim of postcrossing is to enable people to receive postcards from all over the world, for free. The exchange of postcards rests on a common database of all the project members and on
а random address principle intended to minimize the difference between the postcards sent and received by each member. Postcrossing uses an indirect swap so that a member sends a postcard to another  postcrosser and receives a postcard back from a random member.

The project is extremely popular in Europe, the USA, China and Russia
The postage stamp depicts an envelope with the inscription “I love postcrossing” against symbols of world cities in the background.

FDCs with cancellation (Moscow, Novosibirsk, Tyumen) have been prepared for the release.
