Russia #753

Central Sikhote Alin is the most valuable mountain-wood area situated in the south of the Russian Far East, in Primorsky Krai. Thick coniferous and deciduous forests, considered as one of the richest and original because of its specific composition in the North hemisphere, were formed here due to a humid monsoon climate. A great number of rare and threatened species of plants was noted in these lands. Many local animals and birds are entered in the “Red Book” of Russia.
